The following terms and conditions apply to all students and parents/guardians of minor students. Kirkland Arts Center reserves the right to modify terms, conditions, and policies at any time, and without prior notice, by posting amended terms on the KAC website. Continued participation in KAC Education programs indicates acceptance of the amended terms, conditions, and policies.
There is an element of risk inherent in participating in the artistic processes and handling artistic materials. Kirkland Arts Center takes every precaution to ensure the safety of our students, staff and faculty. Kirkland Arts Center, its Board, staff, instructors, volunteers, and all granting agencies sponsoring, co-sponsoring, or funding agencies or individuals are discharged and forever held harmless for responsibility for any damages, injuries, or losses during or associated with KAC Education programs.
Registrants certify that they/their children are physically able to participate in all activities for which they are enrolled which may include scheduled field trips to local parks, galleries or other venues for class curriculum. Kirkland Arts Center assumes no responsibility for losses or additional expenses due to occurrences beyond its control.
Failure of students to abide by the policies, guidelines, and teacher's instructions concerning safety and/or courtesy issues may result in the cancellation of usage privileges. Students and the parents/guardians of minor students are financially responsible for damage to equipment and/or the facility due to reckless acts, negligence, and/or deliberate indifference.
Parents/guardians of minor students give permission for staff members at the Kirkland Arts Center to provide first aid or emergency treatment to their enrolled children as needed. Enrolled children may also be transported by ambulance or aid car to an emergency center for treatment. In the event that parents/guardians cannot be contacted, parents/guardians further consent to medical, surgical, and hospital care, treatment, and procedures to be performed for their enrolled children by a licensed physician or hospital when deemed immediately necessary or advisable by a physician to safeguard their children's' health. Students and parents/guardians of minor students will not hold Kirkland Arts Center or any member of its faculty or staff liable for damages, injuries, or losses during participation in KAC Education programs.
Students must be 14 or older to register for adult classes. Exceptions may be made at the discretion of the KAC Education Department Staff and the class Instructor. Those interested in registering their children aged 13 and under in adult classes must call or visit the KAC Education Office to register.
The Kirkland Arts Center may use, without limitation or obligation, photographs, film footage, tape, or video recordings, which may include the image, voice, and/or artwork of students for purposes of promoting and/or implementing KAC programs.
The following refund policy applies to all class, workshop, and summer camp withdrawals.
■ Withdrawals ten (10) or more days prior to the first day of class: full refund less a $20 withdrawal fee.
■ Withdrawals nine (9) days or less before the first day of class: 60% credit towards another class in the form of a gift certificate which must be used within one (1) year of the cancellation.
■ Withdrawals the first day of class and thereafter: no refunds.
Registering constitutes the registrant's acceptance of all terms, conditions, and policies as stated above.
